		Feedback from the North Shore Home & Garden Show.
		The annual North Shore Home & Garden Show was held at the North Shore Events Centre on the 26-28th March 2010. The main focus at the Craftstone display was our new Schist Clad natural stone range. The feature of the stand an excellent example of a Rinnai exterior fireplace using our Schist Clad natural stone veneer in the Cape Brown colour. The display drew a lot of attention and positive feedback and the collaboration with Rinnai was a successful one. We also had our Column Blox (left), Letter Box modules, Schist Clad (below) as well as our Crazy Pave Mats (below foreground) on display on the day. Schist Clad and Column Blox are also available through Carters and Placemakers outlets. 		Feedback from the Waitakere Home & Garden Show.
		On the 7th-9th May, The Trusts Stadium Arena hosted the first Waitakere Home & Garden Show. There were more than 200 exhibitors and an amazing 12 400 visitors who made their way to the show! There was a wide variety of landscaping and garden related products, fine food and home decor on display. Craftstone had a display right in the hub of the Arena. 		Getting warm this winter!
		It's official, the winter has arrived! Have you considered revamping your existing fireplace or fitting a new one in your home. Use Schist Clad, traditional schist veneer for a touch of class and old-world charm. This is a recent installation in the North Shore by Grant Adams of NZ Stone Clad Installations. We love this double-sided design with the contemporary stainless steel and glass detail. The chic look works really well against the traditional schist veneer finish.
		A necessary accessory to your home renovation.
		Using stone on the chimney visually enhances the overall look and is a great way to break the surrounding finishes by adding some texture and a contrasting colour to the exterior. This is a project using our Craftstone Mountain Ledgestone, manufactured stone veneer. Mountain Ledgestone is available in various colours. Visit our showroom to see more examples. 	Revival of a trend! Inspiration for your outdoor entertainment area.
	Cool winter evenings, a crackling fire, close friends and great conversation! What more could you ask for? Going back in time to the retro design concept of having a conversation pit, as seen here, creates a social hub in a beautifully landscaped garden. We think this is a excellent example and a trend we hope filters through to more designers and renovators! This is a recent project by Colin Green Builders using Schist Clad in the Coromandel Green colour. The installation was meticulously completed by Greg Bond of Remarkable Stone. 	A rustic beauty and full of character.
	This is a private residence where the designer has skillfully fused together a contemporary-style family home with elements that are rustic and full of rural charm. We love the combination of Basalt Grey Schist Clad with the dark timber floors and frameless glass balustrade. The random shapes and sizes of the stonework makes it a piece of art in its own right and undeniably a picturesque feature of the home. Installation by Greg Bond of Remarkable Stone.
	CMS Future Proof Builders and Bella Homes pair up for maiden over!
	Being South African and fairly cricket savvy, but by no means a 'pro' in the understanding of the jargon, I thought it would be sensible to do some research on the topic. The formal definition of commonly used cricket terms as per BBC Sport in the UK: Slip> "Any fielding position where you are extremely close to the batsman and in danger of being injured. When the captain orders you to silly-mid off, you know he's got a new favourite". Jaffa> "An unplayable delivery - think Shane Warne's "Ball of the Century" to remove Mike Gatting at Old Trafford in 1993. Less effective when using an orange, obviously". Jokes aside - we teamed up with CMS Future Proof Builders and Bella Homes and provided the stone for the clubhouse/showhome at the Cobham Cricket Oval in Whangarei. We are very pleased with the result! Installation was done by Bream Bay Coatings, Whangarei.

		Central Schist
		This is the latest addition to our extensive range of natural stone veneers. Central Schist is sourced from the West coast of the South Island and offers a modern look to Schist cladding. 		Auckland Home show
		2010 was the first time we had a stand at the Auckland Home show and were we flat out. Feedback from some of the other exhibitors was that this years show was very much busier than last year with people looking to upgrade their properties rather than building from new. The Home show was an opportunity to show case the new Central Schist natural stone product along side Schist Clad natural stone and Feature Schist natural stone panels. Thank you to our supply partners PBS and Mapei for providing product to help us build our stand. It looked awesome.
		FPB Auckland show home
		Congratulations to Certified Renovations and Future Proof Building for the recent completion of their new show home at 18 Roberts St, Ellerslie. As you can see from the photo it has been an impressive renovation of the home. This is the second of the FPB showhomes to be opened in recent months. A third showhome in Wellington is due to open at the end of Sept with the last one in Pukekohe due to open early November. Craftstone are supplying a range of stone veneers to the projects to cover fireplaces, chimneys and to create feature walls inside and out.

		Crazy paving is back!
		Tired of the same old straight lines. Looking for something new to add some vitality. Crazy paving is back! But not as we know it. These new Crazy pave mats are different. Rather than coming as individual stones, with these new mats the stone is pre attached to a back mat so they are laid as a a mat rather than as individual stones and each mat is designed to fit in to the next mat making them fast and easy to fit. 		Pukekohe Future Proof Building
		Recently opened in Pukekohe is this stunning new Show Home built by Jennian. This home is part of the Tomorrow Show Homes initiative in partnership with Future Proof Building. 		Tomorrows Showhome Ellerslie
		Since opening, the Show Home has had a flood of visitors. The concept of this Show Home is taking an old kiwi weatherboard house with no insulation and poor wiring and making it in to a home that is relevant today and in to the future. As a large number of us live in homes that are old and draughty, this upgrade certainly has strong appeal. As you can see from the photo the Rinnai outdoor fireplace covered in Craftstone Cape Brown Schist Clad makes a stunning addition to this outdoor area. 		Feature Schist natural stone panels
		Who said you can't make flat panels go around corners? As you can see from this recent project by NZ Stone Clad Installations in Te Atatu they have used Basalt Grey Feature Schist panels to create this exterior wall. What a great entranceway this makes to greet your arriving visitors. The panels come in 4 colours: Basalt Grey, Cape Brown, Coromandel Green and Piha Black. 		Letter boxes and Column Blox
		Available now for professional or DIY installation are Column Blox and Letter Blox. These are hollow concrete blocks with Schist Clad pre-attached to the outside. 		Thank God, it's Christmas
		After a hectic last 12 months, Christmas is apon us once again. It's a time to take stock of what we have achieved over the last year, and reflect on where are going and what have we learnt. From a personal point of view, nothing is more important than family and the good health to enjoy them. Sometimes that gets lost in the moment when we are all madly going about our business. I think a life well lived is one with few regrets. Our best wishes go out to you for a Merry Xmas. Play safe, drive safe and live to tell the tale. We'll be closed from Thursday 23rd Dec until Monday 10th of January.
