Column Blox / Letter blox
Column Blox and Letter Blox units form, together with matching capstones, a modular system allowing the fast & efficient creation of authentic natural stone columns, letter boxes, gate posts, fences and pillars. You can even make some very cool planters or the base for a bench seat or table! Simply stack the modules on top of each other to the desired height and configuration. Can be used with Craftstone Schist Clad to complete a stunning stone design.

Installation of Column Blox
Before starting the installation of your Column Blox, refer to your local building code to ensure that your project complies with all construction requirements.
1. Dig a footing for each column according to code.
2. Pour the concrete footing and level off with a masonry trowel (insert steel reinforcing steel if required). Allow concrete to cure for twenty four hours before continuing to
step #3.
3. Apply mortar to the area on top of the concrete footing where the column will be located. Set the first section of your Modular Ledgestone Column on top of the mortar
making sure that the column section is level. This will be the first course.
4. Stack the next column section (second course) on top of the first course. To ensure a tight stone to stone fit between each column section, a light grinding of both the top and bottom may be required. Optional Coat the inside joint of the column section with mortar to prevent water seepage when grouting. Repeat step #4 for each section.
5. DO NOT APPLY MORTAR to top the surface of the column where the next column section will be placed.
6. Stack the Modular Ledgestone Column sections to your desired height.
7. Fill (grout) the space inside the column with concrete, adding reinforcing steel if required.
8. Finish column by setting a matching 550mm x 550mm x 50mm column cap on a 10-20mm bed of mortar.
